After looking at numerous professional promotional images I went about designing my webpage. I had a clear direction in my head, I wanted bright colours, direct eye contact, close up image and an edgy look. The finished website is as shown >>>
The original image has been enhanced in post production with the inclusion of fake eyelashes and make up to add to the effect. There is a continual use of a limited colour palette to make it look more professional as well as including conventional website layouts that are user friendly and audience appropriate. The main reason for creating my website was to promote the video, and I have been able to do this effectively with links to where the video can be viewed as well as latest news stories that my audience would find appealing. I have tried to stick with the edgier representation
of the artist but I did this by using post production editing and enhancements, such as using photoshop brushes to create lighting enhancements and extensive use of burning tools to make the eyes appear darker and smokier. I think as an ancillary product this works really well and would fit into the teen market successfully, it holds all the conventional elements of a webpage as well as constructing an image. The original image is shown on the left <<<
I tried to apply the same principles with my poster but instead of using an image of my talentI chose to use stills taken when filming my music video to add continuity to my products, as well as linking the
video more closely to my other products. Again, i have used industry conventions in terms of design and content, advertising date of release and reviews. I think the contrast between the
white background and the images works really well and again links to the white and black theme continued in my digi-pak and insert. All of my fonts were
downloaded from dafont.com and add to the desired representation and image, with a more youtful, yet edgier effect achieved because of the doodle like writing. Overal I am extremely happy with my promotional products and as a package i think they all work really well together.
